Yeah I'm psyched out of my mind again

Let me introduce you to one of the joys of my life. It's called "Generations." Generations is a Bible study I attend every Thursday night in Northridge at the home of Bob & Terri White. Although the study is a part of GComm's college group, it by no means includes only college students. The study includes many seminary students and young married couples, many elderly and wise people, and even some younger people. Let me tell you about just a few of the reasons why I like Generations so much.

The Teaching This study is blessed with incredible teaching. The main teacher of the study is Bob White, but we also have the privilege of having many of the seminary students teach. We have been going through the second half of Ephesians this semester, and it has been great learning about the difference our beliefs should make in our lives. We also had a retreat earlier this semester, which included great teaching on the topic of pride.

The Music It has been my great blessing to be involved in the music ministry at Generations. I am on a rotating team of musicians who serve by leading worship. The environment is awesome! For the past few years I have been leading music in chapel and in a high school group, and I often look out and see people staring into space, looking down, clearly disengaged with the singing. At Generations everyone is singing! As I was practicing this afteroon I reminded myself not to play too loudly on my guitar. But when we started singing and 60 voices joined in, filling the living room with praise, it became clear that playing too loudly would not be a problem.

The Fellowship When Generations concludes, it feels like it is only half over because food and fellowship await. We stand around for sometimes over an hour eating and talking. We enjoy the food, we have a lot of fun, and we also have discussions that will encourage our walks with the Lord.

The fellowship of believers is a wonderful thing, so I would encourage you. Be involved in your church. Get involved in a home bible study. Meet regularly with friends who will build up your faith.

I'll leave you with some of the words from a song we sang tonight, I'd Rather Have Jesus

Than to be the king of a vast domain
Or be held in Sin's dread sway
I'd rather have Jesus
Than anything this world affords today

Great post brother. It is indeed a true blessing to trust and obey God and in that enjoy fellowship with Him and with believers around us. Just imagine what Heaven will be like when all of that is done in perfection.
